L.E.O. stands for Lower Extremity Orthotist

The field of Pedorthics is the study of footwear and supplemental devices for footwear; including orthoses, prostheses, shoe modifications, shoe fitting and shoe fabrication.

The certifying board for Pedorthics is the ABC (American Board for Certification in Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics). Licensing is through the state of Illinois.

ABC is recognized by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
